I was surprised to see an update to this after zeptolabs advised me to get a refund from itunes. Im glad I did not listen, and the Update allows me to play the game. Thanks for not "cuttimg the rope" on us older macs:)

The update fixed most of the issues in the game like not being able to quit it using command+q, but has made new graphic glitches appear. Whenever Im playing a level that has bubbles I see a weird strobe-like effect on the background, especially on the bubble markers. Itd be nice if that could be fixed! Other than that, Im really happy with Cut The Rope for OS X.
This game is fabulous and works like a charm… until it crashes, that is. The game is fine until it just freezes all of a sudden. Please fix this!
cut the rope on my iphone and ipad is my favorite game on an iOS. But its not meant to be a computer game in my opinion. Using your trackpad and having to click everytime you want to cut the rope just seems weird. i wish someone would have told me before i bought it.
Full screen? Please!!!
i lost 5 bucks when i cut the rope its slow going down please fix
the update made it playable and i think its fun. it would make the game so much better though if zeptolabs added some exclusive for-mac levels. also i dont kno y every1 complains about it not being fullscreen, it automatically goes to fullscreen on my moniter and looks great i am running on a macbook pro 2011 with 10.6.8 snow leopard and i am using my trackpad
The only problem is that whenever the spider gets the candy, the game crashes. Please fix this! Otherwise, its a great game!
When I purchased the application at version 1.00 it was unbearable to play; graphical and performance issues ruined it for me. I was certain an update would be released and there was, version 1.01 was released claiming it had fixed these issues. Version 1.01 fixed the graphical issues for me, but the performance was still lacking. Before I even get to the gameplay, in the menu, there is serious lag and on every level lagging occurs. I can still play it, but very disapointed that they cant fix these major problems within the first two releases.
I already have this game on my Ipad & Ipod Touch. I was worried that this game wouldnt be as much fun with a mouse, vs a touch screen swipe. My worries were illfounded. This game is awesome! My only complaint: I wish Cut the Rope Experiments was available too!
Great game & now on OS X! After 1.1 update game works perfectly on MacBook Air :) Hope for Game Center including in next updates after Mountain Lion release ;)
AWESOME!
This is probably the highest quality game on the Mac App Store yet, but I wish that there was a quit/exit boutton to exit out of the game sience it is fullscreen Ohter than that it is the best game I have played on the Mac App Store yet! (And to the person that asked why it is more expensive than the original version, it is because it has to be able to play on a bigger/higher resiolution screen than an iPhone or iPod Touch. It may cost more on the iPad too.)
I love this game. I have it on my iPhone, iPad and now my iMac. Its fantastic as usual. I really dont like how full-screen has been handled though. I dont think that the game should just cover everything on my desktop. It should get its own Space just as the Apple full-screen apps do. Its just a little sloppy in its execution. That is all.
this game was meant for iOS devices only i have wasted 5 dollars i will never get back , this game will get you frustrated because of the commands. on iPhone you use the screen on mac you use the trackpad and sometimes its not as responsive as actually touching the rope with your fingerlike on an IOS device. My recommendation is not to buy this game unless you have a touchscreen MacBook ,which does not exist !!
Im having serious issues with this game on my laptop. When I launch the app, the window is filled with distorted graphics and I have to force quit the game. Im really disappointed not only because I paid for an app that isnt working, but because I love playing this game on my phone and was hoping I could play on my laptop. Im hoping for a future update to fix this problem.
Mountain Lion has its problems at least I think thats why. Cut The rope and many other apps are forcefully linked to game center on the macs so even though you dont play other people you have to sign into game center to play these apps. They are not linked on iOS. Real strange though found out this morning that I can turn off my wifi and still sign it and it still will play go figure? Spent 2 hours one phone (just so mad was obsessed) 30 min of that with remote support viewing my screens because I could not sign in to game center and finally had to sign in on iPad and do all the nickname stuff there and then I could at least play the game on my pro. It was goofy enough that support is forwarding it up to engineering BUT the only way to quit the game is to use hot keys or corners to get to a place to launch any app that will give you the apple up in the task bar and force quit the game. If you press menu first It does however save your progress Also I can not name the player and there are some glitches associated with that. If anyone knows better way let me know. What was I thinking getting new OS before it was out for a year. But I got new mac pro (not even retina )I just had to download new OS before moving stuff whoa is me. Guess I will be using good old one with leopard to play games for awhile.
Great game- very addictive and lots of levels to keep you going. To people that complain about the controls, go to Trackpad Settings in System Preferences and enable the "Three Finger Swipe to Drag" gesture. Then you just have to swipe accross with three-fingers, making it more iOS-like. One thing stopping it from 5-Stars: Theres iCloud Sync for Game Progress on the iOS Versions, which I love because I never have to repeat levels. Id love for this to make its way to the Mac, which shouldnt be too hard to implement now that iCloud is integrated in OS X. UPDATE: Mountain Lion is out now, adn Game Center support has been added, but still no iCloud Sync. This is very disappointing because I love the game, but I have no intention of spending hours replaying levels Ive already completed on my iOS devices. I cant imagine this would be too hard to incorporate, as its already there between iOS devices. If the game wasnt as good as it is, Id have brought this down another star.
I love this game!!!!! The character is so cute and so is the whole idea. I occasionally get frustrated because this is like a puzzle game. Worth the five dollars to buy this game!!! Totally buy it.
I have never been so pleased before in any download to date except for this game ….Cut the Rope! This is the first time ever that I have taken the time to write a review, this is the most pleasurable game I have ever played on my MacBook Pro (2012 -Mountian Lion 10.8.2). I have no negative issues what so ever to report. No screen issues like mention on previous reviews ( press the ESC key to enlarge/shrink), no lockups, no graphic problems, just a great smooth working and fun game. Hours fly bye in no time … Enjoy.
